Faith restored

What’s a moment when a stranger completely restored your faith in people?

Well as a person who have been through a lot of injuries of different kinds, I think the one time that restored my faith was when I were walking on slippery ice on the way to school and I felt hard and hit a sign post. No one cared at first even I was clearly in pain, suddenly a pair of hands took hold of me and told me ‘you are going to make me miss my train but you seem like a person in need’ so he half carried me about 1 km to my school and made sure that someone was there to continue taking care of me. I offered to pay him a new ticket but he was like no thanks, I did this full aware of that.

A step to becoming independent Part 2

Step 2 in becoming in independent, find what your weaknesses and strengths. But remember that we are all different so my strengths can be your weaknesses and vice versa. (maybe this should have been step 1)

Weaknesses

Let us start with the weakness since there is actually strength in knowing your weaknesses. Like if I know I am scared of heights then I can prevent myself from getting up in high trees or similar. I know from myself that my weaknesses is:

Crowds: I don’t like to be in crowds and I would rather be in small groups of people since I get a feeling of being lost. It is also makes me overwhelmed.

Height: I don’t like high places if I am not feeling safe so I don’t mind climbing and what else but I need to feel safe to do it

Age reading: I have no clue of how old a person is unless they tell me, sure I have a clue if they are young, old and so on but I could talk to a 15 year old without knowing they are not 35 years

Body language reading: I am not good at this either so sometimes I say the wrong words because I didn’t read the body language correctly.

Naive: I am very naive and sees the best in people almost no matter what.

Strengths

Strengths is of cause things you are good at.

Details: I see a lot of details in things, just sometimes I am so focused on details that I forget the world around the detail.

Love learning: I love learning new things just sometimes a bit lazy to do it like I didn’t cook for a long time but now I am doing it again.

Grounded: I feel that being grounded is a good thing to have since it allows you to be there for all kinds of people (If I get to talk to them, hahaha)

Loyal: I feel I am very loyal to people and always try to get the best out with all kinds of people, no matter what.

Favorite quote

What’s a quote that perfectly describes your outlook on life?

Well I feel I living after my own quote these days which say ‘I would rather be weird than normal, as if we all were normal, life itself would be boring’ meaning that I know I am different from people both in general and because of my Asperger’s. I just don’t wanna change that I have Asperger’s plus as we all have our different qualities and ways while if we all did life the same way then life would be boring since nothing new. So that is my life style.

A step to becoming independent Part 1

I feel there is many ways that people can become independent from their parents or bad habits and one of those in my experience is cook because it shows how much you have grown in life plus you can conquer a lot of bad habits.

Shopping

The first part of cooking might sounds easy enough but you need to go shopping for those ingredients that you need to make the meal and already there you are get some good new habits.

  1. You learn to save money and handle your economy
  2. You learn to figure out what is healthy and what’s not since you can read what each product is made off compared to finished food

Making

The second part of cooking is creating the meal from those ingredients you just got and yes it gives good habits as well

  1. You learn how to use tools
  2. You learn how to follow instructions

Eating

The last part is the most obvious one but still it means a lot that you have been making and done the shopping yourself as you learn so much by this that you wouldn’t know if your parents just make the food or if you just get take away all the time

  1. Home cooked food taste how you want them to taste (mistakes can happen)
  2. You save money inc the long run since if you fx gets a pizza oven you can make any kind of pizza you want but you don’t have to pay for delivery. 50dkk around 7,5 US dollars, is what it costed last time I ordered from take away and my pizza oven costed 400dkk arond 60 US dollars so I just need to make 8 pizzas on it and those money also gets you lots of toppings.
  3. It gives you focus and calming energy to eat your own meals

So lots of good reasons to learn to cook on your own. Before I leave you, Bang Bang Shrimp, this is my favorite recipe to cook at the moment and it is so simple.

Enjoy your first step in becoming independent
